Dr. Ramon Artemio Bracho originally had the concept for the Global Friendship Day at Puerto Pinasco, a city on the River Paraguay. He and his friends were enjoying a lovely dinner party when he came up with the idea of observing such a day. 

At that meeting, Dr. Ramon, with assistance from his friends, formed the World Friendship Crusade. Their aim was simple. They wanted to spread positivity through friendship so that people of the world could live in harmony without boundaries, religion, skin color, or race. 

The crusade decided that 30 July would be the day to celebrate friendship. It was first adopted in Paraguay, and soo,n the popularity of this day surged up, and other nations embraced this day as well. 

2. United Nations Recognition

Well, the World Friendship Crusade was trying to get as much attention as possible through their activities on Friendship Day. However, they wanted to spread positivity and slogan across the world. To achieve that, they went to the door of the United Nations. 

And finally, after many years, in 2011, United Nations recognized Friendship Day on 30 July. United Nations proposed that the member nations observe this day with their specific cultural activities, customs, or any regional activities that will strengthen the bond between people of all ages and governments regardless of the border. 

How to celebrate Friendship Day?
